Until December 31, 2020, it used the call sign WBCN and had a sports radio format known as “Fox Sports Charlotte.” Beasley Broadcast Group owns it. The radio studios are located on South Boulevard in Charlotte’s South End, and the transmitter was located off Mattoon Street in West Charlotte.
WBCN was simulcast on the third digital subchannel of sister station 103.7 WSOC-FM and FM translator station 94.7 W234BY. WBCN first signed on the air in June 1948 as WGNC, a daytimer.
