The Blaze is a broadcast Radio station from Winona, Texas, United States. The Blaze provides Top 40/Pop, Hits, and Adult Contemporary Music to listeners in the area. The Blaze also broadcasts sports games for local high schools as well as college football games on Saturdays.
The history of The Blaze can be traced back to 1962, when it was founded by Joe Tackett Sr. after he had purchased KBLZ-FM 1010 AM in 1961. The station was originally named The Voice of the Brazos Valley. The majority ownership in The Blaze remained with Joe Tackett until his death on January 27, 2006, at age 92.
The Tackett Family Limited Partnership currently owns the Blaze.
