KGVY Radio is an AM broadcaster broadcasting from Tucson, Arizona, at 1560 kHz on the dial. KGVY also has an FM translator at 98.3 MHz which simulcasts our signal 24 hours a day for listeners who prefer FM to AM quality sound. KGVY Radio is an independent radio station, so we are not associated with any major broadcast networks. The station is the successor to several earlier stations in southern Arizona, beginning in 1948 when KXIV AM signed on as The Voice Of Southern Arizona broadcasting at 1560 kHz. From 1970 – 1984 KZAZ was affiliated with CBS news and played top 40 music. Adult Standards programming began in 1985, but by 1990 word had been dropped altogether.
